When it's time for  decorating your home or workspace its important to take a few moments to decide what is the most suitable paint to use in your situation - If you want advice just call us on 02841765812 or email info@decorhom.co.uk  alternately you can check for information  on www.crowntrade.co.uk   Sometimes its tempting to use a 'cheap ' paint as your first coat, this is usally the least cost effective option in the long run.                                                                                 When decorating a new house  from scratch the two most favoured options are an  Alkali Resisting Primer paint or a water based matt paint. Our most popular 1st coat paint is Crown Alkali Resisting Primer  and Macpherson Eclipse emulsion. A 'mid sheen' paint is the no1 choice for the finished coat ( Crown or Macpherson)   However an eggshell paint or a scrubbable matt paint ( Crown Clean Extreme Matt paint) should be considered for areas that experience heavy use eg kitchens or bathrooms. The range of 'Kitchen and Bathroom' paint could also be considered here.                                  When decorating wood you can either paint or varnish according to your taste. On bare wood if you decide to paint it is normal to prime then undercoat and finish with satin or gloss depending on whether you want a dull or shiny finish. Of course decorating is not only about paint, when choosinq your paint colours you need to think about co-ordinating your curtains and bedding; it is easier to pick a paint colour after you have purchased you curtains and bedding. Curtains can be 'ready made' or made from fabric rolls - ready made curtains are normally cheaper,  but come in set width and lenghts, these curtains can be modified at an extra cost. Curtains can be tabtop, pleated tape, or ringtop.For bedrooms bedding and curtains can be bought as matchings sets or simply purchase bedding and curtains to compliment each other.
